DESCRIPTION
This introductory level studio course in ceramics will give the students an understanding of clay as a material. Through this course, students will learn the fundamentals of ceramics techniques and aesthetics. With an emphasis on throwing, hand construction along with surface and glaze techniques, students will gain the skills to create three-dimensional works. Students will develop an understanding of design, aesthetics and the creative processes within the development of clay objects through both functional and nonfunctional works.
